Sean introduced me to CrossFit in the summer of 2007. I had been out of the gym scene for the past 7 years raising our 4 kids and really didn't think this would be my type of work out. Double unders, Power Cleans, Burpees and Thrusters? I had never even heard of most of this stuff. But I gave it a shot and tried out some work outs with Sean in our home gym. After just a couple workouts I was hooked. I loved that the movements/work outs were always changing. The movements were all quite new to me but I liked how they worked every body part and the variety kept things interesting and always challenging.
I took my CrossFit level 1 in the spring of 2008 and knew that I wanted to make something of this new found passion. I started training people at our home gym and eventually ran a group of ladies through a CrossFit boot camp in the local park. Word was starting to spread and soon enough the group became too big for the monkey bars and bench jumps and CrossFit Crux was born in March of 2010.
Since opening our doors in Stouffville, I have taken several certifications to keep me abreast in the training methods of Weightlifting, Power lifting and other related fields. I truly love what I do and hope that we are making a difference in people's lives. I love seeing how members change through out their CrossFit experiences.....body, mind and soul! I am truly grateful to be able to do what I love and meet so many amazing people who walk through our gym doors every day.
