Athletic Therapist Lexi Lathan Joins Crux In House Therapy Team

It is an "all in effort" from our new Certified Athletic Therapist Lexi Lathan. Previously a highly competitive athlete herself, she has the compassion and instrumental knowledge to help get injured individuals back on their feet, enjoying their everyday lives. She has experience working with every day public, heavy machine operators, geriatrics, and professional CFL football players.

“My commitment to Crossfit Crux is to help bring insight to the small movements that can make a big difference.”

Athletic Therapists are trained to be specialists in on-site care and active rehabilitation. You can see them on the field or in the clinic working with an exercised-based prescription model. From your hot and inflamed, acute and chronic conditions, to your hidden and masked concussions, let her help to get you back to a healthy, active and safe lifestyle.

Coming all the way across Canada from St. Alberta, AB to Stouffville,ON, Lexi has just completed her Honors Degree in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College, 2018. With having completed a 2 year diploma from Northern Alberta Insitute of Technology, she moved to Stouffville because of its active community and growing population.

Just because it reads “Athletic” in my title, it does not mean that I am limited to only athletes. It simply confirms that I am committed to an exercised-based research model. For too long the rehabilitation industry has been treating people and their injuries without the exercise-based model, and I am thrilled that Crux has brought together an effective wellness team to help Stouffville and its community. I am even more thrilled to be apart of Crux's wellness team. Having had the opportunity to work with other professional health care teams, it has developed my strength in helping with X-ray and MRI referrals and post-rehabilitation programs. Whether it be a labral repair, an ACL reconstruction, or tendon reattachment, let me help you find comfort in your rehab journey. I think that you will find that if we are committed to your rehabilitation journey together, you will come out on the other side of recovery a faster and stronger you.

I am currently providing my support to local sporting events like the Stouffville Spirits, and Stouffville BMX, and you will also find me as the Athletic Therapist for Durham College Men’s Rugby Team. My strength lies in my love for biomechanics and movement. Cycling has become a passion of mine, and I am motivated to help guide cyclists to a pain free cycling experience.

So, look forward to being able to book bike fitting with me -- coming soon!!
