What can I say! I think I speak for every coach at Crux when I say he is strong as F%$@*! 610 lb deadlift, I mean c'mon!! That is CRAZY! Watching Rapson do a workout is truly inspiring. He has true grit, and give his heart and soul in every work out (especially those final minutes during the open). Mike puts in a lot of hard work, has a great engine (for a big man!). But what I love about coaching Mike above all else, is his infectious laugh and smile. Doesn't matter if it is in his wheelhouse or not, he will give it his all and usually rise to the top of the board. I am not sure I have ever seen him in a bad mood - always comes in to the gym with a smile (from ear to ear), leaves in a pool of sweat and I think secretly loves the pain!

What brought you to CrossFit?
My co-worker Mandy Bambrough was all over me to join crossfit back in 2013...
What was your first impression? Has it changed?
I loved the crossfit atmosphere right away... It came with a team type atmosphere that I'd craved since playing hockey and I will never go back to the conventional way of working out.
What’s your proudest moment at Crux?
Probably my first 600lbs deadlift.... It's a number I never thought I'd be able to hit.
What are you working on now?
My biggest goal and number I'm chasing now, is a 500lbs back-squat.
What ‘s your favourite thing about or memory at Crux?
The atmosphere in the gym, and witnessing others hit PRs...
What motivates you?
Nothing motivates me more than missing lift attempts...
Oh yeah and if there is any shenanigans going on at Crux, you can guarantee who is a big part of it...
Advice to someone getting started?
Listen to the coaches and work on things you hate... And when your favorite lifts come around, give'r!
