Handstand pushups are a fantastic total body exercise that everyone should be working towards in one form or another. Not only do they build an immense amount of upper body and core strength, they are also great for balance. The other thing they do is challenge you mentally as they are an exercise that can test your concentration.
There’s no doubt about it, handstands are hard. It is something everyone is challenged with no matter how strong they are or how long they have worked on them.
This week in our open prep session, we will focus on Handstand push up strength and endurance. It will be a great opportunity to work on a skill that will very likely be featured in one of the workouts and something everyone can use a refresher on to build their skills, and hopefully for some, get their first HSPU!
